Allonge’ is a Virginia Pilates studio and is committed to teaching and preserving the Classical Method of Body Conditioning developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century.  Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on the controlled, fluid movement of the body originating from a strong core.  Allonge’ offers both group and private Pilates lessons taught by fully certified instructors.   Private Pilates sessions are 50-60 minute individual, customizable, combination workouts on the Pilates equipment (reformer, high chair, wunda chair, mat, cadillac, weights, and magic circle).

Who can benefit from Pilates? Anyone!  One of the unique features of this form of exercise is that a certified instructor is trained to appropriately modify any exercise for various injuries or illnesses.  So, ANYONE at any age and level of fitness can benefit from Pilates.

What are the benefits of Pilates? Benefits of Pilates include but are not limited to: greater range of motion, increased flexibility, greater core strength, full body strengthening and toning, creation of long, lean muscles, back pain relief, improved circulation and posture, increased body awareness, increased coordination… and did we mention long, lean muscles?

*Fully certified-  completing 600 hours of study & teaching in the classical Pilates method mat-work and all Pilates apparatus, studying anatomy (as it pertains to movement and Pilates), and passing all exams for full certification.
